Why Aren't There More EMTBs Like This?

While $7K is pretty steep for an e-bike, the few, comparable belt drive models I could find were $10 - $12K . . . and not as well specced in terms of motor or IGH. I am not sure why the bike industry has been so slow to embrace belt-drive EMTBs. The internal gearing and belt drive work so much better in my experience in sand or muck than chains, and the motor pairs nicely with a belt. I had an EMTB for eight years that got a lot of use and went on some lengthy tours. Never had to replace the belt despite many thousands of miles of riding. I'm looking forward to many more thousands on the Blade 2.0. It's everything I hoped for in an EMTB - Rohloff, powerful motor, powerful battery (integrated into frame but removable), good controller, belt drive, good size knobbies, kickstand, and touring options (including built-in lights). My only slight gripe is that the handlebars are wider than I'd like.

Great power. Couple problems. Poor service.

Bike seems to have a short in the front light. Getting help from the service is near impossible. The bike rides great, but it is still new. I have a feeling that if anything major goes wrong, I will be on my own to reflect on my choice of purchasing from a company too far away to access. WARNING: If something goes wrong, how will you contact the company and get it fixed?
